Esoteric Alchemy: Mars vs. Saturn: A New Painting
Hello! I am writing this the day after the partial Lunar Eclipse in Pisces, during which I had a good time painting Mars and Saturn in my little MFA Cave (“studio” space).
First, I must share that music is a very important part of the painting process for me. Music helps me to REALLY drop in and focus. There’s a fun interaction that happens between the music and my paintings.
Music I’ve been listening to on REPEAT non-stop:
“Kill or Be Killed” covered by MAPHRA (original by Jutes). Maphra’s voice is absolutely amazing. Huge fan! You can find her cover on Youtube.
“Abracadabra” by Lady Gaga. I LOVE this music video! This is definitely one of my power songs I like to go to when I need extra encouragement.
Okay, let’s get into it! Why am I painting Mars and Saturn?
I am all too familiar with how Mars and Saturn both influence me and my life. (I can throw Uranus in here too but that is a much longer story for another time).
I won’t trauma dump here, but I’ll give you a brief background on these two planets and what happens when they interact with each other in any way: A complete CLASH of POWERFUL FORCES.
Mars is raw drive and action: hot, fast, impulsive!
Saturn is structure and RESTRICTION: cold, slow, and boundary driven!
Yeah! Do you understand the frustration and inhibition of this?
It has recently come to my understanding that through the friction of these major influences in my life, I gained immense resilience, endurance, and strategic patience.
When these two planets interact, they have the power to cause devastating endings, which I like to call tower events (a bit of a homage to Tarot).
So, I AM IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING A PAINTING ABOUT IT!
Last night, while I was working on this painting through the Lunar Eclipse, some intense feelings and thoughts surfaced:
I have made best friends with the Tower, Death, and Three of Swords Tarot Cards.
I have come out on the other side of so much death, so much heartbreak, and so many devastating tower events in my life,
I now know how to construct my own towers for the mere purposes of destroying them.
I’ll fuck shit up, learn the lessons from that, and then build a bigger, better tower elsewhere.
I’ll burn bridges while I’m standing on them and learn how to grow wings on the way down.
Hate me.
Misunderstand me.
Misjudge me.
Underestimate me.
Those judgements have ALWAYS been my fuel source.
Turns out I’ve been an Esoteric Alchemist since birth.
After all, It’s what my Scorpio Moon does best.
